Cape Crocker Day 1

Here's who went on our camping trip: Teo, Aileen, Mark, Joy, BJ, Dianne, Fernando, Dylan and myself. I'm the only one who didn't pull an all-nighter before we left. So you know what that means.

It was a four hour trip to our destination, Cape Croker and we traveled through many small towns on the way. We got there and we originally had a hydro site, but all the hydro sites were close together with absolutely no privacy. We would have had 'trash left right and centre.

So we moved to site 157 and 159. Pretty isolated, then we setup camp. Hot enough to cook food without fire. We head to the beach completely unequipped.

We find out that we want to fish and swim, but have no gear. That's okay though, because we are damn hungry. Let's have some breakfast at 1:30pm. Everyone's excited for the first meal of the day. Steak, burgers, grilled cheese...everyone is happy and fighting off 'itis.

We gather our gear and head to the beach. Rent 3 canoes and head out to the beach.

Dy, Aileen and Frescoe are having trouble going anywhere. Teo and I have a shaky start, but Mark, BJ, Dianne and Joy are sturdy. Fish? No fish out there. After an hour or so, we decide nothing is going on. This is my first time fishing, and my line broke, so I just practice casting. Forget the fish, we throw lifejackets overboard and rescue them like baywatch. We get
lazy paddling around for them, so we just fish them in. Teo's the champ with four catches. Our two hour rental is almost over and we are about 2km off shore. Dy's boat has already gone about half an hour. So it's a race:
Teo and I vs. Mark,BJ,Joy and Dianne.

It is on for the first km or so. Head to head, but the other boat takes the lead. I'm not gonna lose. Teo and I start chanting and rowing in sync and eventually smoke the competition to submission. Like submisssion: Joy
is the only one paddling, Kuaz is posing, Dianne is feeling the water and Mark is slackin. Teo and I are champs by 300m. Sore arms, but it's time for dinner. We spend the rest of the night doing your typical camping crap.
