Finals this Sunday

Yes we made it. I thought we wouldn't, but we are going to perform at the Bandshell 7pm Sunday. Throughout the past rounds, I haven't called any one to watch, but now I am.

I mean these are the finals, and it's at the bandshell. You are guaranteed a show filled with talent. So please support 5th Element this Sunday. Here are the judges comments, there were four judges today:

1. great creativity; well rehearsed; great energy and well prepared; good overall presentation; great showmaking


2. You nailed the ending tonight! This performance was really tight; incredible strength; Very well done


3. So So COOL!!; Creative, entertaining, kepy my attention all the way through (not easy to do); a little loose in spots; bust your butts to tighten if you move on!! Thank you!!

Rising Star the 29th

I didn't put up the pictures I said I would, but I've just been a little busy. We have the semis this thursday.

We've been asked to perform for some car show this long weekend (www.thefirstepisode.com). Also, someone came up to us after the last show and asked if we were interested in some beatboxing shows or something. There is also word of a dance audition for a Jessica Alba movie.

The bad and good thing about our shows so far is that we don't have as many people coming out to watch and we haven't performed our best. So most of you haven't seen us, so come out and watch tomorrow and we'll perform the best we have all year. Please help us go to the finals.

Round 1...fight

We are performing in a few hours. I think I'm just going to walk to the EX from my work. I don't know how many people are going there to support us. I didn't call many people. We'll see.

I saw Grace today on the subway. She's 15 weeks pregnant. Congradulations to her and Mark. You want to hear some strange coincidence? There have been a few girls (just friends) who I've talked to a lot, hung out with a lot and then we eventually drifted apart, then they were mothers not too much later. Is this common? I guess not because the rate of young pregnant filipinos is the highest in the country. Anyways, see you at CNE.

Ashanti pisses me off

She's not that good. I know she worked hard to get where she's at, but the bottom line is that she's okay. She doesn't deserve all the awards she's getting(well, I guess last night's teen choice since the fans voted). If some of you don't know, she won the Aretha Franklin Entertainer of the Year award. Have you seen her perform? Not good looking, can't perform and can't sing live.

Apparently Vince was in Shaq's charity game, but Shaq was not there due to fever. Vince put on a show in the fourth quarter with five crazy dunks including the between the legs one. How did he do that in a game? Here's the link

About the disqualification stuff on CNE: We really might get disqualified because our show contains vocals over the music and we are in the group vocal/variety. This is not allowed for vocal groups. But we are not a vocal group, we are a variety group. The judges should realize this. I discussed this with the main organizer and she said we should be okay, but I don't really trust them looking at the past two years.

I have another video I'm going to upload...later though..and oh yeah..a thousand hits now...cool thanks.

My take on this Rising Star ish

This year, we are taking the competition pretty lightly. We are out there purely to have fun and entertain the crowd. A year ago, I did not think I would be doing this again. Part of the reason why we are doing this is because the organizers encouraged us to do so.

Unreal Eth-X:5th Element is not really out there to become famous. Sure we would like to do this stuff on the side, but we are busy building our real careers...careers that are financially viable. 5th Element, being a large group,has had its share of bumping heads, ego inflation, and personality differences. That fact is that most of us are moving in radically different directions...some good, some bad.

Ooops I'm digressing. Anyways, I think we have a talent for making shows. Some may not agree, but most do. So come out and spend a day with us...even if you don't know us. A group of people we did not know last year did. As we get older, we quickly find out that there's nothing much to do that's worth our time. Hanging out all the time doing nothing is not the same as before. So do something. Go to CNE. This is not a sales pitch.

Performing is fun. It's a high no drug can compete with (although I wouldn't know). We promise four and a half minutes of entertainment and satisfaction. No connotation here.


Initially, we planned to have a tribute intro, paying respect to our past and all the things we have down by doing routines and using the music we made in the past. So that has changed, and we're just doing our brand new freak show. See you there.

King Keon

So Keon was signed by Sacramento. I'm mad, but not that mad. That was the only team I wanted him to go other than toronto. It's a consolation, I guess. That is going to be a fun team to watch. Toronto will be pretty mediocre next year. We have done really nothing to upgrade our team, while others like New Jersey and Boston have. But we have a healthy Vince. We'll see how that turns out

I miss them already

Most of my cousins left today. For two weeks, there were 17 people in
my house. Almost like a party every night. Two families are gone, one remains.
The last family is leaving tomorrow though.

It was a really fun two weeks. Here are some pictures we took yesterday

So I finished shelling the site. You might notice that the URL's are different. You can still use the old URL's but eventually I'll just cut them off. So update your bookmarks (for those of you who have actually bookmarked this piece of crap).

No more DHTML menus. I hate them now. They are a bitch to maintain. Soon, I'll have a webform so you can email me directly from the browser. Again, I'm introducing a feature no one will use.

Full Sunday

Went to putting edge yesterday with my cousins. It was cool, I lost by one stroke. Oh well. We also played some basketball in the park at Abbey Lane for a couple hours. After that, practice. Pretty tiring practice because we made our routine pretty difficult. Here are some video screen caps. You can find the rest in the media section:

The Game

It was okay. Nothing spectacular. I think everyone who went to see Vince's game, really wanted to see if he can still fly

It wasn't the dazzling array of dunks like last year, but he proved that he's just as athletic as when he entered the nba. The last thing he said was that "I'm not going to let you down this year". Everyone went crazy.

What was disappointing was the fact that his team lost.
