Bike Gods are mad at me

My bike was stolen exactly 3 weeks ago. This morning, my bike was there. So that's ok. I ride it 10 meters, the chain falls off, and gets stuck and tangled in the gears. I try all known methods to take it out, but it's really stuck. My hands are dirty, and I'm pissed off. If anyone gets in my way during the next hour, Imma smoke them. I'm cooled off now though.

Canadian Idol

I know a few people who would be trying out for Canadian Idol. I know a few of those people could make it to the top 30. I wonder how they are doing.

Mike Bustos is one of my friends from high school who is going for this thing. He sent Lawrence an email about his experience and i decided to put it here. I don't think Lawrence or Mike would mind. Here it is:

Here's how my day went...


This morning I was on the Morning Rush Hour Mix on FLO 93.5 or
something like that... i sang I'll make love to you... on the the FLO
host's cell phone live to air... that waS PRETTY COOL...


The first audition of the day consisted of FIVE-AT-A-TIME audition for
two judges... out of the five, I was chosen to stay... they further
interviewed
me and asked me to sing three other songs of a different genre... i
sang SUGAR PIE HUNNY BUNCH... and HEARTBREAKER BY MARIAH CAREY... they
asked me things about my life... I told them that i wanted to break
the asian
barrier
in the NORTH AMERICAN MUSIC INDUSTRY... they liked that i think...


anyway, the next audition for those who passed the first one of the
day
was
a ONE-ON-ONE audition for one of the Executive Producers... He
interviewed me... i answered pretty much the same questions as those
at the audition before... I sang I'll MAKE LOVE TO YOU... then they
asked me to sing
another
one and i sang STAND BY ME... then HELLO by lionel richie... He tore
me up big time! Like SIMON would have... I DON'T buy it he said... you
aren't convincing me with all your hand motions and facial
expressions... he
wasn't
pleased with the vibrato either...

Pretty much he said i was like
every other filipino or pop singer... too karaoke style! so he asked
me to sing I'll make love to you without vibrato and with my hands at
my sides... I gave it my all... i've never sang with such a heavy
focus on singing my words before... it used to be all about
the
sound and hitting notes and riffing... he really helped me realize
alot! Anyway, He loved it... he said YOU have the look... An amazing
and
powerful
voice and that I should sing like ME and not like everyone else who
will
be
auditioning at the next audition... and then he told me to take NO
prisoners
and that i'd better blow the judges away and break that asian barrier!


I dropped and almost broke down i was so happy... I wanted to cry man
i was
so
happy!


So anyway, on Thursday i'm headed to the Royal York hotel at 8 am to
audition for the CELEBRITY JUDGES which will be filmed for the show...
I
am
blown away that I have made it this far... so many people were cut and
were
crying today! I have Zarlus to thank and the Entertainment 6 pak too!
And most of all God! Thanx for the prayers man! They definitely
helped! If i make this next cut I will be staying at the Royal York
hotel as one of the 100 singers chosen from throughout all of Canada!
Crossing my fingers and PRAYING!!!!!


also a magazine interviewed me... i forgot to ask the guy which
magazine that was... but i have his card... he also makes movies... he
told me to call him... LOL


And yea, i met more chikks again... hto ones too... one looked like
britney
spears and she took my number so i could get together with some rap
group and sing them a hook... like a chorus or something... another
chick was
that
BITCH character on READY OR NOT... i knew who she was when i saw
her... it was such a trip... she didn't make it past the exec judge
though...
neither
did britney... and the other chick was part opf the staff... she said
I
was
her fav... LOL it was such a trip! she said she would vote for me...

I'm running the hip hop club this term and I taught my second hip hop class yesterday. Before the class, I was breaking with the UW Breakers. It's a cool thing. One hour before hip hop, the breakers are in the studio, then the hip hop people make it. It's like one big family.

There were at least 50 people in the class and i'm sure we did not adhere to fire safety. After a little talk in the beginning, I did a warm up and talk the "like I love you" (timberlake) dance. I love that dance. I only got to teach half of what I wanted to teach, but it was fun, and everyone did well. Nice.

i don't know if you've noticed this but ever since i met you, i think, you've talked about SOS consistently. anyways, yea i met francis yesterday in greenbelt mall. small world, huh? we talked for a sec. he said to tell you sup. they're preforming at greenbelt this friday i think i might go check it out. k that's it. c ya

I spotted the light

What a long weekend...worthy of a fairly long journal entry.

Friday..
Arrive back in T.O at 4pm. Chill, eat, homework until 8pm for practice. Krazy bones is supposed to meet us, but does not show up. After a short practice, Geoff and I consider hitting Pearl Lounge where the 5th Element DJs are spinning, but we conclude that we are a bit tired to do that. I go home and decide to flip on my Distance education tapes. After an hour of doing this, I find myself getting hypnotized by the professor on the tape. At that moment, my phone rings. Dylan asks me to pick her up from Pearl Lounge because she is not having a good time there. Apparently, it was a full moon, and horny-drunk men came out to play. I pick her up at around 1:30am and I drop her off. I went inside to catch the sacramento-dallas highlights and we both fell asleep. I woke up around 4am, and went home to finish off my sleep.


Saturday..
Wake up at around 10:30am, eat, did some reading and good old homework, watch american idol which my sisters taped for me. Next thing I know, it's rehearsal time: 4:30 at the studio. Krazy bones is there, Geoff is there...this is our second practice together. Practice time doesn't really matter. Krazy Bones is nasty. For those of you who don't know him, you'll see a video soon. We run through, change stuff, and practice fairly hard until 7:45pm.
Matrix Time. Leen, Teo, Dy, and I head to Eglington Square to catch the 9:50. Long ass lineup to get in the theatre. Teo and I have a plan to get up to the front. It doesn't matter though. We're idiots and ended up at the end of the line. It didn't matter too much, we got the seats we wanted. Don't worry, I won't spoil it for those who haven't seen it. My roommates here seem not to like it, or they thought it was OK. They're idiots too. j/k. Well this is what I have to say. Some people expect the sequel to mirror the cleverness of the first. Those people were disappointed. I think it's unreasonable for the second part of a trilogy to be the same as the first one. Instead, it's a development of the first part. Anyways, it was good and I definitely recommend it. Movie finishes, chill a bit, arrive home irresponsibly at 3am.


Sunday
That's irresponsible, because I have to at The Toronto Centre for Performing arts at 8am. So I'm 30 minutes late. The place is smaller than expected, but pretty nice none the less. Tech rehearsal, 10:30am: Krazy bones not here. Geoff and I run through twice and it looks dumb. We make adjustments. lunch time: pizza pizza, krazy bones not here. 10 minutes before showtime(2:50), krazy bones not here. It's time for a substitution: Kevin. We tell him his cues, and he plays the role of Krazy bones. The organizers switch around the programme, and the audience thinks that 5th Element is not performing anymore. SUPRISE!

We do a fairly good job. Kevin achieves official "Baud man" status. Everyone seemed to enjoy it, we go backstage and everyone congradulates us for pulling it off. whew.we pray and thank God (we did that before we went on too)

Thanks to my Cindy and her sis, Goose, Dy, my fam, Goose, and Catherine for coming to watch. They all enjoyed the whole show. All the other acts were generally good. There were some lowlights and some highlights. It was overall a great show. Geoff and I catch an Iced Capp with my parents, and then some chinese food c/o the same people who brought us pizza. The chinese food gave me gas that lasted to the morning.mmmm.

Krazy Bones shows up. He also sings, and is in a competition. Apparently, the organizers would not let him compete in the finals unless he did a promo shoot that day. He was stuck in a terrible situation and that's why he didn't make it. We all understood totally.

Kevin backed us up, so we put him in the show with Krazy bones. So there were four of us. We made some stuff up 10 minutes before the show, and went with it. It was a good show. There were some mess ups, but all good.

Some notables:

• Kevin's other routine(jump off) is nutz


• Krazy Bones made it up to us by killing his solo


• Terry and Flo are leaving...


• We capped the night off at Midnight Oil with all of VYBE and Czar,Karla, and Trina


• This will be my last 5th Element show until at least August because I need to focus on school

So here I am tired. I will post all the media as it comes along.

I was an extra for some canadian artist the other day. Her name is TA.DA. or sumthing...the chorus is catchy and with an urban sound. Didn't break in the vid...but that's ok...Watch for funny 'glitches' that I tried to create as I would magically transport myself from one side of the circle to the other. We'll see how the video turns out. Really low budget and ghetto...but ah well...show on Sunday times two...buy tickets now!!!Show May 31st for MAC...three shows in June...NO JOB SO FAR!...

Another vehicle incident

A few months ago, someone egged two of my cars in toronto. Last night, someone stole my bike.


My bike was stolen on campus sometime between May 7th 10:30pm and May 8th 8:20am. It was locked in front of Mackenzie King Village. The bike is a "Jeep 2002 Comanche Sport". It is a shiny dark green with red covers over the gears. I have only seen one other person with this bike. If you see the bike on campus, please notify me by email or by phone 519 747 8484 about its whearabouts and who was riding it.


Thanks to everyone who has helped me so far. There's a slim chance in recovering my bike, but it is still worth trying.

My bike was stolen on campus sometime between May 7th 10:30pm and May 8th 8:20am. It was locked in front of Mackenzie King Village. The bike is a "Jeep 2002 Comanche Sport". It is a shiny dark green with red covers over the gears. I have only seen one other person with this bike. If you see the bike on campus, please notify me by email or by phone 519 747 8484 about its whearabouts and who was riding it.


Thanks to everyone who has helped me so far. There's a slim chance in recovering my bike, but it is still worth trying.

In the grind

Just to let you all know, 5th Element, well Geoff and I, are performing on May 18th for SPOTLIGHT. It's a talent show to raise money for the United Way. Geoff and I will run a two man show with a possible guest appearance by Krazy Bones. There are 2 shows: matinee(3pm) and evening(8pm). The cost is $18 and $22 respectively. You might think "Damn! That's a whole lot of money to see 2 idiots shake their ass for 3 or 4 minutes!" Remember that this is for charity, and there are a bunch of other acts.

All of the females who buy tickets through me get a full body massage or just a nice hug from their favourite 5th Element member. For the males, we will try to get you the same from your favourite VYBE dancer.

I honestly don't see a reason for you not to go. Long weekend, hug or massage, watch a good show.
