Last night?s episode of Canadian Idol (#3 if you?re keeping track) brought the show?s crew to Ottawa and Toronto for the final rounds of auditions. While the auditions in the prairies and the Maritimes were bland at best, the contestants from the oft ignored regions of Canada had enough heart to make themselves endearing. Last night?s wannabes, especially those from Toronto (many of whom double-dipped by driving up to Ottawa to increase their chances) were flashier, but they certainly didn?t have a whole lot of personality. That, coupled with the lackluster judges ? who are so desperately, but fruitlessly, trying to carve out television personalities for themselves ? made last night?s show pretty boring.


Still, there were a few bright lights that might make the finals worth our while. If we were to lay our bets today, ChartAttack?s money would be on Toronto contestant Mikey Bustos, a slightly strange looking young man with a shaved head and the voice of an angel. Bustos belted out a killer version of Lionel Richie?s "Hello" without a hint of irony. While the judges have been moved to tears and felt the urge to jump up and hug contestants too many times for their enthusiasm to actually mean anything anymore, Zack, Jake, Sass and Farley?s astonishment was truly warranted this time. Mikey, on the other hand, was overjoyed that he was being given the chance to represent the Asian-Canadian community. It was warm fuzzies all around.


While Mikey Bustos may be on his way to becoming our Canadian Idol, last night?s episode programmed far too many people who don?t have a hope in hell,

Just want to say how Bustos kicked major arse last night on tv. Came across this site thanx to Lawrence ... but yeah I remember him singing in every class and everywhere I went with him during school, also telling him to shut up. But I knew he had a good voice I just didn't realize how good it had gotten!

Friends of mine who don't know him and didn't know that I know him were saying, "That filipino guy was amazing." Saw an article in a local paper today saying how Bustos blew the judges away too! Crazy stuff. All the St. Mike's guys should go to the show if he makes top 10 (Lawrence's idea).

I heard a lot about him on here from ray and lawrence. you guys just can't stop talking about him. now i know why. he's great!! wait...better than great, he left me wanting more. For those of you who watched Canadian Idol, I am sure you share in my disssappointment with the talent that showed up in Canada. I'm definitely ashamed except for one person in all of Canada. This dude was in my chem class in high school. I'd always tell him to shut up because he was always signing in class. I thought he sounded like a "really good karaoke singer".


Last night, Mikey Bustos (in Raymond's terms) kicked n' ripped. He kicked it, then he ripped it. That was some nasty stuff on Canadian Idol last night. He was THE BEST one so far. I'm not being biased. Lawrence is 1/2 of Mikey's vocal-piano duet (duet sounds fruity, but you know what I mean). Although Lawrence ain't a musical idiot, I didn't totally believe him when he said Mikey (I never called him "mikey", only bustos and bastos) would put out like that. He's improved so much since the last time I heard him. He might even achieve offishal baud mon status. Good luck to him and everyone should vote for him if he makes it to the top 30.

I had a dream last night that I could fly. I had this ability throughout the whole night. I would fly beside planes, save lives etc. It felt real. I also believed that binary had 3 digits 0,1,x. Also, my math was wrong too. I honestly believed I could fly. I honestly believed that all digital computers that were binary were actually ternary. These things felt like truths. It's bugging me because I know it's not true, but I honestly dreamt it was.

In other news, the raps might be looking to make some blockbuster trade involving Latrell Spreewell, JYD, Eric Montross, Lamond Murray, the raps 4th pick and knicks' 9th pick. Interesting. I wouldn't mind this one too much.

Have you been watching Canadian Idol? It's such a disappointment with the level of talent and number of people who look like stars. With the exception of maybe two people, the people selected so far make me feel embarassed about Canadian talent. Toronto is next week which should prove to be hopefully better.

I went to wonderland yesterday. I went on Skyflier( the one where you pay them to strap you in, and drop you from like 200 feet ) with Teo and Leen. I was in the middle, they were gripping my arms so tight. It was dope. Dy was on the side watching and hoping nothing goes wrong. More details later...Happy Father's day

Yesterday, Lawrence tried to use the self-cleaning function for the oven. Bad idea. The oven burped with a lot of smoke, and it didn't stop for half an hour. The movie will be released: "When men use ovens without instructions".

I had a performance yesterday with the hip hop group. We did a 1 minute dance that we learned in 3 practices. It went pretty well, but we didn't dance to the song I choreographed for, we danced to a Christian song.

Also, Lawrence performed with Joe and Anna in a good singing and piano display for Chinese Christian Fellowship.
