it's annoying and frustrating when that happens during finals, cuz immature students who are not ready for their exams are making everybody else suffer cuz they want more time to study (or whatever their reasons are).
it happened a lot in the fall term, and once to me too. they didn't make us leave and we just kept writting while it rang and rang. they gave us 10 extra minutes at the end, but i totally lost my concentration and did poorly...
neways, hope it doesn't happen to you again. and good luck on the rest of you finals!
(btw, 5 yrs and 10 months is very commendable!)
