If you recall, OUCH (ontario university competition for hiphop) is next friday at McMaster. McMaster won it last year so they get to hold it. If you don't know, waterloo started the competition. It should be fun, but we have about 50 dancers...

Critical Mass
Ray I'll get you a CD when I return to campus. Unfortunately I joined the band after the CD booklets were already printed so my name is nowhere to be found. It will be there for the second printing, but I don't know the timeline for that.
Just to let you know what we've been up to, we just played at church as well as at a retreat in Oakville for lots of Grade 8 kids. The faith community at that church is strong and energetic so the audience was really good. Next on our agenda is a small show in Milton and then a full-scale concert in London in December and right after that we're going to be filming a music video. The concept behind it is really cool. A little sixth-sense-y as well.
You're right. Performing in front of hundreds of people is a really cool thing, provided they're into it. Nothing worse than a dead audience. Thankfully we've been blessed in general with really good fans.
Too bad I missed you last weekend when I was in Waterloo. I'll catch you later.

Over reaction's my only reaction
Perhaps I did explode on Swallow, but I explained myself in a previous post.
I did not, however, accuse Swallow of lying. I accused Swallow of putting up a mind-less post. I'm honestly just sick of those posts. I've articulated this before, but I guess this is a better way to get my point across.
mp3 player under $200? I'd have to investigate that. All I know is that there will be a flood of new devices trying to capture the Ipod Mini market.
A quick futureshop scan shows players with at most 256 MB. I wouldn't buy that kind of player because it doesn't suit my needs. I would need at least 20GB because of my massive collection of stolen music and I use it as a portable hard drive. I have the H120 from Iriver. This player is totally dope and it matches my digicam! It's important to note that if I had a choice between an Ipod and my player, I'd choose my player with my eyes closed.
This player isn't for everyone, so it depends on your needs and what you are going to use it for.

I really don't care for these posts and neither do many visitors. I've received lots of complaints about these and these complaints are totally warranted.
Swallow, everyone has a boiling point. I'm sorry you had to get electronically slapped for your first offense, but I hope you can understand my frustration.

BooM has been my boy even before Geoff! We haven't been hanging out as much because we both are busy, but he knows we're Unreal Eth-X for life. He will actually be moving to Whistler in a few weeks to answer a calling there. We'll all miss him, but we are also excited for this opportunity for him. Good luck dude!
On another note, Shungee is right. This site is about me and my friends. Brent is my friend, so I don't mind if Brent or his fans post news or pics. What I don't appreciate is the cowardly and pathetic posts like Swallow.

man, you're a geenious! haha! i suppose the burnt ati and ms bridges can't be rebuilt?
someone said this recently and i thought it was a good point :: ati needs to hire more CS instead of Eng.'s to write their software, as good as the engs are w/ the hardware, ATI needs ppl like u on their software. =P

Hey dan: some decisions include where I'm going to work after school. That has been my main focus for the past few weeks. I shouldn't talk too about my job search because past, current, and possible future employers have a tendency to check this site to see what I have to say about them.
Anyway, I had an interview with National Instruments yesterday. As you recall, they're based in Austin, Texas. It was a different interview than what I'm used to. It was different because my interviewer spent a lot of time writing things down as I was talking. Therefore, there wasn't much eye contact. He also asked behavioral questions as well. I haven't heard those in a while. It went OK, so we'll see what happens. By the way, National Instruments specializes in Computer based test automation for scientists and engineers.
Today, I went to check out the ATI job fair. When I pulled up to the building, I saw a line that wrapped around the building. Everyone is decked out in their prom-gear. The long line reminded me of American Idol auditions...but if I waited in line, I doubt I'd get any TV time and I doubt my career would last less than 15 minutes. In the end, I decided to opt out of the job fair. ATI seems like a good place to work. I got an offer from them last term, but I turned them down, like Microsoft, for Amazon. Perhaps ATI and I aren't meant to be.

I have a lot decisions to make this month. By Halloween, I should have a clearer picture of my future.
In other news, my sincerest condolences to the Reeve family. Many of you know that I am a huge Superman fan and Christopher Reeve was the best superman. He did so much after he was paralyzed and that should indicate to us that we're capable of super-human feats without the super powers.
I don't know where I pulled "anonymous hippopatumus" out of.
I have an interview with National Instruments on Friday. They're based in Austin, Texas, but the interview is in Waterloo. I'm not sure what to expect, but there's an info session today. And if you go to waterloo, info session = free meal. That's a bad way to look at it, but a free meal is always a bonus.

Bustos Performance
Bustos is singing every weekend at this Filipino Restaurant called "Aristokrat" in Mississauga, if you're looking for something to do tomorrow night send me an email. I think I might go check it out.

wow...realtime does take a lot of time. It's not incredibly difficult, it's just the little details. A few things worked the first time we tried it: our scheduler worked well and my trick of replacing a system call id with the return value on the requesting tasks' stack worked like a charm. If you don't know what i'm talking about, it's all good.
Today also promises to be a full day. I have a meeting this morning followed by some hardcore study and then a quiz....
When I get back to T.O, I might knock out.

not the greatest of days
It started out ok. The only bad thing was that it had to start at 7AM after 3 hours sleep.
I had an 8:30AM Circuit lab this morning. I breezed through it with 2 hours to spare. It's not an astronomical feat, but a decent one to start the day. I then proceeded to the real-time lab to finish my assignment. I got some help from some peers, but the help was slightly mis-information. I'm sure they didn't mean it, but it set me on the wrong course for a while.
After a few hours, I managed to tackle the problems. I was happy, but sad that it took so long.
Today, however, made me realize that I'm still a lost soul in circuits. I'll have to work incredibly hard to get by, but I'm willing to take on the challenge.
I also taught a new dance in hip hop today. It didn't go particularly well. It was the first time in a long time I felt like crap teaching. I'm not a fan of those pop-star moves, so I wanted to do a more hard-core dance. It was a combination of drastically different styles and my faults as a teacher that made today's experience one to forget. I've had more than enough low moments in my life so picking myself up is no problem.
An interesting thing happened yesterday during my information system management class. I wasn't paying attention in class because i was working on another assigment. The teacher said, "we had some excellent ideas and proposals for the term project", then she read MINE out. Weird.
Anyway, it's thanksgiving weekend, so we must remember that we all have to bear incredible hardships, but we are absolutely blessed in so many more ways. I've been neglecting this site quite a bit, but I'm thankful that you all still come here to check out what's going on with my life. I promise to try to keep it more updated from now on.

School is going....still trying to catch up in circuit analysis. That class is a pain for me and the rest of my digital hardware buddies. I think it's going to be the hardest course I've ever had.
