The Grapevine
At least I'm not pregnant(?) or getting married, because that type of news spreads faster than klez(the email virus).
Eye Opening
Yesterday, 6:30am, I was entering emergency at a hospital, because I was feeling pretty severe pains in my side for the second morning in a row.
So there I was...in a hospital gown, in the observation room with 17 other aching people. Was I the youngest? NO, there was a baby there. Was I in the worst condition? NO, probably the least.
It did make me feel a little better that there were others sharing in my pain, but I'm not saying that I took comfort in the fact that others were worse off than I was. I thought more generally, about all of the tough situations in my life. You know those situations where you felt GOD had it in for you?
So when I'm in a bad situation, I take comfort in the fact that others who were worse off than I am, have triumphed. I'm talking in general, not about my current situation. I think that's an important point.
It's also interesting to note that there are others worse off than us. That seems obvious, but it's easy to forget that, and it's easy to think selfishly. Everyone has their cross to bear. No matter how heavy your cross is, someone weaker than you carried a heavier cross.
So today, I get X-Rayed, then go to work, then an important practice tonight.

My thoughts on Web Design
Here are the basic principles that I look for when browsing/designing a site:
- Keep it simple: Those flashy sites with a lot of glitz, glamour are cool to look at once, but they don't have great the staying power, or return value. Also, the user interfaces tend to be complex and it becomes difficult to navigate. I think the best designs are simple. This site is not a great example though, but it's okay
- Keep it open: There are a lot of sites that go through great lengths to keep their code and pictures from being viewed or downloaded (by disabling right clicks and crap). Some sites, however, have good reasons such as commercial sites. Others just want to be greedy. The web is supposed to be open. It's a source for knowledge and it's a platform to share resources with everyone. Trying to hide your stuff destroys that concept. Also, there is always some way to download that pic or view the source code. I haven't encountered a site that tried to hide their stuff where I couldn't get it.
- Minimize clicks: Ensure that all of the information/media/whatever on your site can be reached with only a few clicks. Too many options confuse and annoy users
- Update as much as possible: yesterday is old
- Push the envelope: Be unique, don't settle for what's already there. The Stuff you see on the web page isn't always the intersting stuff. What happens on the backend or on the server/database is where all the magic happens.
That's all for now. I'm not claiming to be the master at anything, I'm just giving my two cents because:
Better believe this
Most rappers can't achieve this
I'm bad to the bone
but X-Ray's can't even see this
...
Whoever's on the microphone
Let it be known
You in danger

I'm not a rapper, but make the subsitution

Papal Mass
is really one of those rare opportunities in life where you have to go.
This is possibly the last time the Pope visits Canada.
Like I said in an earlier entry, it was going to rain and unfortunately,
the weather people were right. We're not prepared, however, since we forgot
all of our ponchos in the van. We have just enough umbrellas, but the
rain is coming down so hard and at an angle that the umbrellas just can't
cover enough. Dylan and I were sitting in one of those fold out chairs
with no umbrella but we had a waterproof blanket that covered most of
our bodies (except our head).
Melissa's (my sister) pants were soaked. I felt bad, but we were all wet.
Anyways, all that is besides the point. We're here celebrating mass with
the pope and like a million other people. We're pretty far from the altar,
but we are relatively in the middle of the crowd.
The Pope! I see him, smaller than an ant, I check the large tv screen
to make sure."You are young, and the Pope is Old", he said during
his homoly. "but I can still relate to your goals and aspirations".
The Pope talked about the sexual harassment problems in the church and
advised not to be discouraged by the failures of a minority. These are
the people whose hearts and faith have died. We should not let our faith
die and should steak our lives to it, just as Jesus did. The pope discussed
fundamental principles, his speech a little slurred, but his heart was
into it. He sat through the whole two and a half hour mass, which he has
not done in a long time. The mass was one of the greats. Those of you
that were there will definitely agree.

The More you know
I've come to realize that the more you understand computers, the less you trust them. I do not trust my hardware or software, and it's starting to piss me off.
Raining on the parade
It's raining now. That sucks for WYD. There's stations of the cross tonight. I suggest you all go. I think I'm going with my fam, but it's raining. The weather network says it's gonna rain during the papal mass as well. What crap. The weather dudes could be wrong. I suggest all of you to go the papal mass as well.

Stupid Me
Take Control of this Site!
Talk shit about me, somebody else, I don't care. You can be totally anonymous.
Go to the bottom of the page and make your entry now.
Saw Vince in the news. He's in China for a Nike promo with Yao Ming, this
year's numba 1 draft pick. He's a tall mofo. Here's a pic of Vince dunking.
I can't wait to watch Vince again at the Charity all-star game. What? You're
not going? I'll take my video camera and post some vids.

General Ramble
extremely cool. It's server-side stuff that has to do with enhancing web
communication with realtime 2-way video conferencing, flash generation and
all this mumbo jumbo. I'm going to definitely find myself a pirated copy
of the server software and install it on my development server. I'm also
working on some .SHET or .NET stuff, web apps, cold fusion and some other
crap.
I'm going to change the look of this site. No more of this stupid 750 pixel
wide content area. That's total crap, and I knew that from the beginning.
Changing it that might mean I may have to remove the background image which
is not necessarily a bad thing.
New survey out! Answer it, it's a basic question.
I saw Karla
Nakpil today. She's a girl I used to talk to a lot on the phone during
the first stage of my teen life (There are three stages to my teen life).
We talked about the people we h(a/u)ng out with. How they are the same,
different or how they regressed or progressed. Good times.
I set up my webcam to take a picture every fifteen minutes. Don't worry,
nothing dirty, it's just for those few curious people. The webcam will be
placed in various locations in my house. Click
here to view it.
Keon Clark is a freakin UNRESTRICTED FREE AGENT. This is total garbage. If I had the money, I'd pay him and the luxury tax. I'm mad, very mad.

Not going to work today
to show you. What you'll need is the
Quicktime player with VR. Once you have that, right
click here to download this link and you can see my "Fortress of Solitude"
aka "The Lab" aka "My Office" in full 360 degree format. You can zoom in,
zoom out, pan across my office and crap like that. The software that did
it is not the smartest, so you will notice some flaws in the picture, but
it's not bad. For you lazy folks who do not want to use quicktime, you can
view the static image here.
Enjoy.

48 hours later
I woke up at around 10:00 to go to church to realize that I was
more swollen than yesterday and in a bit more pain. That means, some antibiotics
and some tylenol and five hours later, here I am. I am hungry and pretty
damn tired still. I have a little story to tell, but I'll tell you guys
in a couple hours, gonna eat something now. Also, I'm gonna put up some
more media.

The Morning After
Good morning again my few visitors. I just woke up from a pretty
long-ass sleep. To be honest, the pain I felt right after was pretty minimal.
It felt more like the muscles in my face were really tired. That's about
it. I guess the Demoral worked. I didn't take any drugs this morning. I
should.
What's nice about having minor surgery is that your family really cares
for you. When I went to bed at around 6pm last night, everyone checked up
on me to see if I was okay. I remember Dylan came by, but I was really droggy.
She dropped off some stuff that I don't remember, but it was a nice gesture.
BJ also called to check if I was okay
Thanks you guys for looking out for me. I know the worst hasn't passed yet.
The doctor said there may be a lot of pain on the 3rd, 4th or 5th pain for
some reason. I'm not bleeding too much any more which is a good sign. I'm
swollen a little, a picture will be shown below. It doesn't really look
like I'm very swollen though, but when I look in the mirror, all I can think
about is popeye.
One other thing I remember is that the nurse complimented me on my Jordan's
that I bought in Michigan for $40USD. I told her where I got it and she
wanted to go there. Also, I asked to leave the office for a bit to pick
up the new Computer Paper. They didn't trust me since I was still gassed
up a bit. But I returned safely. That's all for now. Gonna rinse out my
mouth. And oh yeah, there's an audition today which I can't make it. I didn't
really talk to anyone yesterday, only on thursday. I'll make some calls
and I hope it goes well. Good luck you guys.

Good Bye wisdom
So I just got out of the dentist office. The operation started at 12:30pm.
At 11am, I took anti-swelling pills and Valium. I felt no effects, although
the nurse said I was walking differently and talking so calmly. I had to
disagree. I was more weak in the knees and drowsy, but nothing out of the
ordinary.
I'm not nervous at all. I sit in the chair and the dentist explains the
procedure and risks. I know that do not do this during abortions. Anyways,
my chair reclines and the nitrous oxide is put on. I've had it before and
it really relaxes you, and sends small tingly feelings around your body
I wait about ten minutes to let the gas kick in, and then it begins. This
is was my most anticipated scary part, the needle. It turned out that it
was not bad. Six small short pinches, that didn't affect me very much. Wheew
Wait a few more minutes for the numbing to start and then he begins. I really
don't feel much of anything. He tells me to close my eyes, for good reason,
so I don't see what the heck he's doing. The rebel I am, I squint a little
to check out the scene.
For the most part, however, my eyes are closed, just enjoying the moment
and thinking what I'm gonna put on my site, and what I'm gonna tell my family
and friends about this minor experience. I begin not to care about what's
going on until the last tooth. I feel quite a bit of pressure, but very
beareable. That was really the last move my doctor performed. Forty five
minutes and I'm glad that I was awake during the operation. I suggest any
of you who are getting you wisdom pulled out to stay awake.
I can still feel the anaesthetics. I just took some pain killers. It doesn't
hurt right now, but hopefully the medicine will help. I haven't taken so
much medicine in my life. I usually don't. Not even cold, headache or alergy
medecine. You know as I first put the pill in my mouth and tried to swallow
it with water, I coughed it up and all this blood went on my 5EC shirt.
The second attempt was successful.
Have I lost my wisdom? Not yet anyways, I still know that an eigen vector
is simply a root vector with index 1 and that you can solve differential
equations, and sequences with root vectors. SOAP,XML, JavaScript, .NET,
multithreaded applications. Yup that still makes sense to me. I haven't
tested my b-boy or beatbox skills. I'll wait on that one. Here are some
pictures with gauze in my mouth
9:43 AM
Good morning my few visitors. It's 9:43 am and at 12:15, I will be getting
my wisdom teeth pulled. So far, everyone has been telling me horror stories,
but it doesn't phase me. I might react differently towards the operation.
What's messed up is that I have an audition tomorrow for a talent competition.
I'm pretty sure I can't make. Hopefully, Geoff, Carla, Glen, Kuaz, Spittz
and Dave can hold it down. I still have to talk to them about it. Hopefully
we can get passed this audition so we can tighten up our show and win this
thing.
As promised here is a "BEFORE WEB CAM PIC". I'll take another as soon as
I can after my wisom is gone.

A Half Decade Ago...
known, I wouldn't be talking to Cleo, but yo, that's a whole other issue
you know?
So how did I go from chem and bio to wanting to know everything
about techno-logy. Was it the virtual labotamy that got to me? It's gotta
be the money.
Naw, it's my passion for learning, the same for my darling
of four years. It's here, where I notice my friends negatively change and
say that they're the same old dudes, but you know that claim ain't true.
"Peer pressure, nothin to do", don't give me that lame excuse. The only
one to blame is you. You hate this news, but the truth is saving you from
living wack in shame. I have to say, I can't shed hate, just hope for the
best, and observe the next half decade.

Superstars and me
are my picks: Tamira (the best overall), Ryan (the hottest girl), Justin
aka Sideshow Bob (A good performer/crowd pleaser). Check out idolonfox.com
for more info
Since I spent an hour and a half watching wannabe popstars, I've compiled
a list of the top five hottest celebs. Here are my picks:
If you don't know these people, they are from top to bottom, left to right, Kristin Kreuk (Smallville), Jessica Alba (Dark Angel,Flipper), Denise Richards (Wild Things),Beyonce(Destiny's Child) and Charleze Theron (Devil's Advocate). Three of these girls are my age or younger. So that gives me at least a negative two percent chance.
My guestbook is getting a bit more populated, which is a good thing. I am really tired, like really tired. I get my wisdom teeth pulled this friday at 12:15pm. Before and After pictures will be shown.

Sorta Disappointed
I would also like to say goodluck to Brent for his trip to the Philippines. He will be pursuing some hoop dreams, and possibly cameo in a few foreign flicks/commercials.
CNE Rising Star Called us yesterday asking us to join the competition again (without and audition). Last year I said NO WAY NOT IN 2002 for sure. Right now, it may be possible that we do. I will call them today to discuss things. I would rather perform at the CNE in the BandShell as a Special Performer on Urban Day or something. I'll keep you posted.
Also, Sam Fleming, a DJ/MC/Organizer wants Natural Noyze to perform on August 31st at a FOOOD party in the Tequila Lounge. We've performed at his parties before at Revival. He puts together some pretty ill shows. Video and audio clips of our performance there will be up soon.
World Youth Day is coming up...Not much to say about it, because I do not know how much I will be participating. If you want to know anything about it, contact the guy who knows everything about it, Lawrence. His email addy is in the GBOOK.
I got the Smallville DVD recently. I love that show, it's definitely my current favourite show. Sign the guestbook, even if you don't like me and you want to say something bad about me or if you liked me before and don't like me now, or you didn't like me before and like me now, or you always respected me.
The Grand Opening
Thank you for coming to my website. You most likely know me. To find out
why I would put up a site, click on the "Site" link and it will
tell you the reason. This is version 0.1 of the site. That means there are
a few bugs throughout the site, like browser incompatibilities and crap
like that. Just use the "bug Report/feedback" link on the left
of the page to report anomalies. In the media section, you'll notice some
zero values, don't worry about them, they don't work yet.
I put this site together pretty fast and I built every single component
and function except the coutner. Browse through all the media, read my crappy
profile and surely sign the guestbook. Yesterday (the 14th) was my four
year and one month anniversary with my girlie Dylan. Seems like a long time
doesn't it? You can expect a lot of updates, especially in the media section,
and you'll begin to hear my commentary on life. Bookmark this site and visit
daily.
What you see is merely a barebones, dynamic and database driven site. You
will witness this site evolve a fairly rapid rate. Below is my journal entry
for day one of the camping trip we had the long weekend. Enjoy, Raymond
