What I did on my bday
If only all of that was true
I didn't want to do much on my birthday,
and that's what I did. You find out a lot about the people around you during your birthday. You should not, however, make a final judgement on people if they call you or not. When people can remember and call/contact me on my birthday, it means a lot.
I found out a lot about one particular person yesterday. What I found out is not good. This person has been in and out of my life and just talking to this person yesterday made me realize that I should not have much to do with him/her anymore.
On the other hand, thanks to everyone who said happy bday to me. I really appreciate it. Here are some random thoughts:
- Dy was a sweetie yesterday.
- Kuaz is my bro no matter how much we don't chill.
- Glen and Geoff are fam
- Lawrence is my favourite Crusty Catholic roommate, dave and joe are my favourite Dirty Protestant roommates
- Bernice is the only person I haven't met before and wished me happy birthday
- JRO and Teo are my favourite boys who are shorter than me
- Brent, you hold the title of blooper of the year, set this morning at around 2AM
- Rich, where's your sister?
- Mike, you better enjoy that lap dance from the ugliest chick
- I'm the HORSE champion winning two prizes paid by Rich, Mike and Brent
- Eileen and Melissa, thanks for all the wonderful gifts, you are the best sisters
- Jay and Dave, thanks for the gifts
- Thanks mom and dad, I owe you my life
- I'm glad I did not invite a lot of people. It was one of my more enjoyable birthdays in a long time
Life goes on. Good luck in the new year.

Merry Boxing Day
Tomorrow is my bday and I'm not looking to anything. Maybe I'll have the typical dinner, but not with a lot of people. Ah who knows.

I passed
It's my dad's bday today as well. Happy bday dude!
Earlier this week, one of my close friends, Aileen, lost her grandfather. All of our prayers and thoughts go out to her and her family.

If my zits could talk...
Geoff, Glen, Breanne and I performed at the Granite Country Club. At first, they didn't let Breanne and Glen in the building because of the way they were dressed. What an eery start. After they knew we were the performers, it was ok. This place was nice. Once you walked through the door you knew you were in a place where people talk about their cars and furniture made out of money.
We set up and began to practice. This was our first practice with Breanne, but she caught up easily. If you don't know Breanne, she was in Rising Star in the Solo Vocal Category. I haven't seen her since (Geoff and Glen have), and we quickly remembered how good she was.
This was a kids Christmas show. Lots of parents, lots of kids, lots of clowns. We being the only teenagers and early 20s people there, we were looked at funny. The men there also kept staring at Breanne...these rich dudes want everything.
Our performance was cool, some mess ups and miscues by everyone, but it's ok. No judges. After the performance, we had a little training session with the kids where they learned some moves. There were so many of them, it was hard to teach the all, but had fun. We also learned that Ketchup dance. Yeah.
Ok, back to studying. One more exam, one more project.

JOBS
a job opportunity in the new year if anybody is STILL looking for a job...the job is i guess a clerk in a gift/card shop. work is a couple days during the week and a day on the weekend...employer is understanding and flexible with hours but want someone to work mostly nights.
For more info either ask Ray...he should know something...
Hey Ray...if you dont know direct them to me!!
thanks bud
I'm too lazy to put a subject
Coming home this weekend
Yesterday, I wrote my Digital Circuit Design Final. It was a 23 page monster. You had to work really hard for a 4 mark question. I wouldn't say that it was a hard exam, it was long. It was supposed to be a 3 hour exam, but really it was written as a 4 hour exam. I remember about half way through, my brain got toasted because I was writing and thinking so much. My brain was so toasted I forgot how to read. So I stopped and did nothing for 2 minutes and then the trauma wore off and I began my frenzy. I finished the exam, but I didn't have time to check it over properly. To me, that's not finishing it.
I also went to confession last night with Lawrence...
I'm enjoying the few moments I'm not studying or writing exams or doing my project.

Most of us are studying for finals. I've got one tomorrow. We have to remember that the QUALITY of studying is more important than the QUANTITY of studying. It seems obvious, but I find myself trying to study a lot without getting much done.
I try to stay motivated in any way possible. It is really difficult. I'm looking already past exams to Christmas, some birthdays, new years and my new job(s).
Oh yeah, I'm considering getting a part time job aside from my software development job at Research in Motion. Cat might be able to hook me up at a Bubble Tea place, though I'm not the hugest fan of bubble tea, but I do like it.
I love run-on sentences, don't you because sometimes they are therapeutic and at night, birds fly south.
And always remember that every 2-connected graph has a 6 flow even though the Petersen Graph has no 4 flow. You can always convert a mod-k flow by finding a directed path from a vertex of positive net flow to a vertex of negative net out flow and reversing the edge directions. One last thing, there is always a perfect matching in a graph if for every subset X, |X| >= the number of odd components in the graph without X. That one will work all the time with the ladies.

Got in a minor accident
Next thing I know, I lose control and hit the curb too. I bounce of the curb and slide around and nudge the other car a bit. Barely noticeable scratches on two old cars. So it fits.

Awww
Rejection is not something we like, no matter what we're going for whether we really want it or not...so don't worry bout it.
If resumes were made...
Got a letter today. I won't be a don.
Disappointing?
Yes
End of the World?
Definitely not
I get to live with my current roommates in the summer, so that should be cool. Apparently, I'm not don material. I don't know exactly what that is, but according to the Waterloo Residence Life Group, I'm not. But hey, that's what life is about: finding who you are and just as important, who you are not.
Over the years, I've found out who I am not (or not going to be):
- A don
- A medical doctor
- A singer
- An accountant
- An expert in Graph Theory and History (how ever they relate)
- technical support
- A failure
And that's all I can think of right now, but I'm sure there's more. I've tried to become all of those things mentioned in the list except I never tried to become a singer, I just CAN'T sing, and I really never tried to be a failure since failure is just a consequence. I've tried and discovered. I'm sure there will be many more things in my life that I'll try and not like. That does not mean I'm not gonna try things.
I won't be a don and I think I'm making too big a deal out of this by having this long entry. But this rejection has just put some things into perspective.
Onto new things and new experiences....

There's got to be more to life than this
They are still out on who gets to be a don. They were supposed to make the decision by Monday, but they didn't. There are probably borderline people(possible me) who they are considering not don material. Who really knows? I'll let you all know either way.
The beat goes on da da dum da dum da da.

Had a practice
We had a pretty good practice and we have a new routine choreographed by Geoff to "Lose Yourself"(eminem).
This should be a fun performance. It's nice to be back home. Unfortunately, I'm coming back to waterloo shortly.

Happy Birthday Geoff!
I performed with the Hip hop club on Wednesday for the Accounting Talent show. I never knew accountants had talent. Evidently, they don't. Neither do computer scientists or engineers.
I will be heading back to toronto for the weekend. I'm leaving friday at about noon. I have practice on friday for our show on December 15th. Hopefully we can get some stuff done. I have a lot of studying to do as well. Finals are coming up in 2 weeks exactly. And I just realized that. Damn...
Also, today is a special day. It's the Knaked Knight himself, Geoff Reyes' birthday. Happy bday bro...

Who am I?
I had my don interview on Thursday. It went okay I think. It was hard to get a feel for how I did because the interviewers spent most of their time writing. I'm not expecting anything.
On the same day(14th) was Dy and I's 4 year and 5month anniversary. Wow
On friday, there was GroundFX 5 at the SLC in Waterloo. We battled Western. The quality of the battle was ok, but we were the better crew. Tripline was there. They were pretty crazy. The battled some of Supernat/drunken monks
doot doot doot...

There still is a chance...
Well, I got that invitation. My interview is on Thursday and it's probably going to be in front of a panel of four or five people. I've been through quite a bit of interviews so I don't think I'll be nervous. I just have to go in there and be myself.

Hi Ray
Love ya lots,
-dy
A cheap new toy
I was home briefly this weekend. I watched 8mile, I'm not gonna comment about it, but I suggest you watch it (don't watch "the ring" if you're the type to get freaked). It was getting a tad rowdy in the theatre, but at least this was the early show.
I had time to spend with my family, since I haven't been home in a month, and Dy. It was a pretty relaxing weekend. I didn't do a whole lot of work, but that's ok since I just recovered from midterms.
What's messed up is that there are only three weeks of class left, which means fafafafafinals. And I just noticed that I haven't done what I wanted to do with this site. I'm hosting some Vince videos and they have got downloaded a lot. I need to work on some features for this site.
One thing my last performance taught me was that I need to practice more. I practice too little. I have two shows on December 15th. Geoff, Glen and I have the pleasure to be performing with one of the Rising Star Finalists. She's a crazy talented singer and dancer. This should be a good one.
Did you really read all this? Superskills? I can't audition, if they can hook it up, I'm down.

Thanks Ray Rah
I really appreciate you guys coming, I'm glad you had fun....I miss ray already, when's the next trip?
-dy
Thanks to my visitors
8am: I wake up somehow because I have a group interview to be a don. It was really hot in the basement because there were four people there. Dy drives me to the interview and I can barely open my eyes. I spend two hours going through all these stations that test your skills at being a don. I wouldn't mind being a don, and I wouldn't mind not being a don. It would be a bonus to be one, but it's definitely not the end of the world if I don't become one. The chances are slim since there are only 4 spots open with 50 applicants.
Anyways, after the interview, I get picked up by Mark, Dy and Geoff and we head to Mel's diner for some breakfast. After waiting in line outside for 15 minutes, we get seated, order and wait 30min for our food. We finish in about 20 min, and it was good food, but the place reminds me of that place in Road Trip.
Man, I have to go to class. I'll continue this later.
Thanks Ray Rah

Also, check out this website: Black People Love us This is courtesy of Lawrence. It's pretty hilarious

QUIZ
Here is a quiz about me. I think it's pretty tough unless you live with me, or talk to me a lot, which is only a few of you. It asks you for your email, but that's just to notify me that you've actually taken it. No spam will follow. So what are you waiting for?Click here to take the quiz
Also, check out this website: Black People Love us This is courtesy of Lawrence. It's pretty hilarious
Gotta love that picture of Dave in Web cam 2. It's a hybrid George Costanza hat.
Raptor's won. Boring ass game though

Poor Ray Rah!!!
In the middle of midterms
I'm excited for the Raptors' season this year, although it the outlook doesn't look totally positive.
I miss everyone. It gets pretty lonely up here. I got an email from Carla the other day. She and Nic are having a wonderful experience bringing life into the world. We're all happy for them.
That's all for now. I promise more updates when things slow down (Next week). For now, it's just the journal. I am putting up another web cam too.

rain or snow?
I had a pretty bad interview yesterday. I guess I can cross that job off the list
This is the busiest time for me right now. I have barely any time.
Can't wait for the raptor season to start. At least it starts AFTER midterms. We don't have cable here, though, so I'll miss some games.

Raptors are 0 for 3 in the preseason, but that does not matter because I remember last year, they played well in the preason and got smoked in their first two games of the regular season.
I have a group interview with Sybase and individual interview tomorrow. I have a Digital Circuit design lab demo and graph theory assignment due on thursday, a Chaos and Fractals paper due friday, midterm on monday. My week is pretty much set, but it's not that bad/

Lucky U!!!
The Raptors Intrasquad game
5 bucks to get in. There were 2 teams, purple and white. Vince, Antonio,
Mo Pete, Hunter and Mamadou were on Purple. I'm not gonna list the teams
but this is what I got from that game:
- Vince looked like old Vince, which was bad in the begining of the game.
i.e. disappeared on offence/defense, too many jumpers, lack of focus. By
the second half, his whole demeanour changed. He communicated well on
offense, played hard defense and got his team to tie from a 12 point deficit
heading into the quarter. In the huddles, he always kept his focus, even
when he wasn't one of the five on court, he'd be the sixth guy in the
huddle, also the first off the bench to congradulate his team. He threw
down a nasty one handed dunk to tie the game which made the whole gym errupt
in the 3rd (He also made a 360 look too easy in warmups). I can tell you
this, nothing like that was ever done on a waterloo rim. For Vince, things
look promising. He is a changed man. I remember the open practice at the
ACC, and he's totally different from that. - Mamadou was impressive. He worked hard on the boards, on defence, very
athletic and active. He doesn't have great hands and is not as athletic as
Keon, but from the game, he can put in a productive 10 minutes a game at
least. He does need work. - Bradley and Huffman did not look very good. They looked awkward and
lost. They need some work. - Jeffries is still a bit shaky with the knee, but he looks like he can be
really good. He needs to assert himself more, he has the talent. He also
hit the eventual game winning 3 point shot with 7 seconds left. - Mo Pete lit it up after Vince went to the bench (from bringing his team
back from 12). Mo can light things up on home court, but I want to see him
prove himself on an away court. He looks poised and ready for the season. - AD looked tired, and not very impressive. He looks like the guy who
worked the hardest all week, but his body looked too tired for the game. He
did not play much and was ineffective when he did. We all know what we'll
get from him. - Lindsey hunter and Murray look impressive. Lindsey can definitely
handle and shoot and he is quicker than I thought he'd be. I like the
addition. He lacks the toughness of Childs though, but at least he is in
shape at training camp. Murray showed he can do what he does, score. He's
a perimeter player and doesn't take it to the rim that much. He looked a
bit over weight, but conditioned. He can score. - Jerod Ward and McCoy played well. They look like they deserve a spot on
the team. At least more than Huff and Brad. Jermaine Jackson was crap with
shooting, but he was ok otherwise. Jermaine was frustrated. Alvin didn't
play.
I did not see the whole training camp, so I'm reporting what I saw in the
game. This season looks promising. I wouldn't believe it till I saw it,
but Vince is a new man.
Here's to a successful season.

New video and what a summer
Yeah it was quite a summer. It was one of the better summers in a while. Performing at Revival Night club (which reminds me to post videos of that), going to Niagara Falls for the weekend, performing at the Civic Center as a special guest, going camping at Cape Croker, wisdom teeth, cousings from cali, Rising star, the wack fashion show, our adventures for Mark's birthday (what do you do when the birthday boy passes out on the roof of a school?) Looking back at my other summers, it's easy to see how things have changed, but regardless, things are good.
I am looking forward this term and I hope to succeed. I am taking Linear Programming, Digital Circuits, Chaos and Fractals, Graph Theory and Public Speaking. Should be fun.

We're number four
order:Lisa Da Maria, Darrell Hicks, and Elliot Madore and Chrisie Menzo (duet)) . We did not bring our A game yesterday, but it was acceptable. As for
me, I was a too much energy, much less control...kinda like the first round. Here's
a video clip of the top three. These people are really good.
We did, however, beat some other very excellent talent (their videos will be up
later). At dress rehearsal, I was thinking, damn, we aren't gonna win anything.
We did, $250 is better than nothing. The experience was incredible. A lot of fun
hanging out with all the contestants, chilling in the bandshell backstage and
dressing room, and of course performing in front of 2000+ people and being fourth
place out of 150+ is not bad. We're not american idols, but whatever.
We actually put this show together 3 weeks ago, and we've produced pretty solid results. Thanks to GOD for giving us the strength and perseverance to do this. Thanks to Geoff and Glen for working hard. Thanks to our constant supporters : Mom, Dad, Eileen, Melissa, Dylan, Aileen, Mike Cueva, Jovi and import flavour, and the reyes family.
As for the rest of you who mildly supported us, thanks too. Our support was very disappointing and it taught us an important lesson. Any goals and aspirations cannot be fulfilled by relying on others. We put together our best show ever in a very short time. This show was clearly steps and bounds above from last year's gimmick filled show, and 2000's sloppy dancing with decent vocal acrobatics. We had no crowd, we had to earn their respect. In the finals, we had to go after last year's grand champions (guest appearance). We worked for everything and earned every clap, cheer, and compliment. That's what I'm most proud of.
So where's our video? You'll see it in a few weeks...too bad you didn't see it
recently. In the meantime, I'll eventually put up some videos from other contestants
and our Jazz show earlier this summer.

Rising Star the 29th
We've been asked to perform for some car show this long weekend (www.thefirstepisode.com). Also, someone came up to us after the last show and asked if we were interested in some beatboxing shows or something. There is also word of a dance audition for a Jessica Alba movie.
The bad and good thing about our shows so far is that we don't have as many people coming out to watch and we haven't performed our best. So most of you haven't seen us, so come out and watch tomorrow and we'll perform the best we have all year. Please help us go to the finals.
